Solar Lights

We hope you like the solar lights that were installed last spring on the roadway around The Bungalow in Bowring Park City of St. John's . This is part of Bowring Park Foundation’s First World War Commemorative Project “Lighting the Way” to The Fighting Newfoundlander, The Caribou and the Beaumont Hamel Replica Plaques.

Twelve solar lights are presently being installed in the West End of the park as the final phase of this Commemorative Project.

  • The Bowring Park Foundation was established on April 18, 1995, as a not-for-profit organization under the patronage of Derrick Bowring, a relative of Sir Edgar Bowring.  Sir Edgar donated the park land to the City of St. John's in 1911 on behalf of Bowring Brothers Ltd. on their 100th anniversary of commerce in Newfoundland.
